Hello folks, the dear readers and followers of my friend ninefly's, awesome, beautiful, impeccably well-organized and well-designed book blog! You may be wondering, hey, why in the world has ninefly not been around lately? I mean, sure she's on a mini-hiatus, but the lack of comments! We pine for her output! First of all, I'm here to assure you that my friend has most definitely not forgotten about any of you. In fact, her school year has finished, and she is back in her home country with her family and free time to spare, drafts of reviews and relevant posts ready to be made. Except, she is in Mainland China, and the Great Firewall blocks many things, including blogger! (The horror, we the blogger users exclaim! The pure, unjust horror!) So currently ninefly is off seeking ways around the Great Firewall, but in the meantime she has given me blog admin access to post this apology note, and I will be helping her post here as she sends to me all her tidily typed up html-coded posts wherein I'll hit the 'post' button and bring her posts smuggled from the firewall here for your viewing pleasure.

But who am I, you readers may be wondering. Who is this babbling fool who does not understand the meaning of brevity and abuses the exclamation mark usage to no end? I'm Ah Yuan, and you may know me from my book blog GAL Novelty. Ninefly and I go waaaaaaaaaaay back, as in we've been friends (IRL) since pre-University days. (In other words, you can totally trust me! Totally!) Ninefly has given me strict instructions to not be too dramatic and clearly state that I am not ninefly, (which I think is pretty obvious, because our personalities are pretty different, lawl) and I think I succeeded?? I mean, I didn't even use capslock, surely this fulfills the toning-down-my-theatrics requirement here. =D

Anyhow, the short of it is: ninefly is having problems with her country's firewall and I agreed to help her post on this blog for the summer or whenever she defeats the Great Firewall. Whichever comes first. I'm sorry that my first time posting here is one of sad news, but I think there are some good things to take out of this! 1) a promise of reviews and relevant posts coming soon your way, roundabout way as it is, and 2) if you've ever wondered why you never see people from Mainland China interacting on blogger, you now know why (okay this is not really a good sort of news, but it's a rather interesting tidbit, y/y?)

- am in china + great firewall of china = can't access blogger
- will still review books sent for review (priority being: Downtime, the turning)
- contest poll on hold until I get access
- have not given up! am still trying to "scale the wall" as the Chinese call it lol
