David Marion #2:
Venom
by Joan Brady
Recently released from prison, David Marion didn't expect to find a hitman at his door. Warned that a powerful secret organisation is after him, David goes underground and off the radar--waiting for the perfect moment to wreak revenge.
Physicist Helen Freyl has just accepted a job offer from a giant pharmaceutical company who are close to finding a cure for radiation poisoning. But when the mysteriously sudden death of a colleague is followed by another, Helen begins to doubt her employers' motives and realises that her own life is in danger, too.
Venom brings David and Helen together as they fight for their lives against a backdrop of industrial espionage, corporate greed and human tragedy.

Revenge! Hitmen! Physicists! Danger! I've seen good reviews for the first book, so I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Received from Simon & Schulster UK via Book Chick City *ARC

Aaaand, two more contest wins. I love getting free books! Sadly, since I don't own a shelf, they're all sitting in piles and boxes all over my dorm...I'll need to find them a more cozy home after I graduate and get my own place...

Leviathan #1:
Leviathan
by Scott Westerfeld
Prince Aleksander, would-be heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, is on the run. His own people have turned on him. His title is worthless. All he has is a battletorn war machine and a loyal crew of men.
Deryn Sharp is a commoner, disguised as a boy in the British Air Service. She's a brilliant airman. But her secret is in constant danger of being discovered.
With World War I brewing, Alek and Deryn's paths cross in the most unexpected way...taking them on a fantastical, around-the-world adventure that will change both their lives forever.

FINALLY got my hands on this book. It's sitting all shiney and glossy and pretty, waiting to be read. I'm undecided whether I should wait and read it together with my brother or not though. He's pretty interested in it...but I'll have to wait all the way until summer...

This last one was actually a pleasant surprise because I was never informed I won lol

The Fallen #1-2:
The Fallen / Leviathan
by Thomas E. Sniegoski
THE ULTIMATE QUEST FOR REDEMPTION
On his eighteenth birthday, Aaron begins to hear strange voices and is convinced he is going insane. But having moved from foster home to foster home, Aaron doesn't know whom he can trust. He wants to confide in the cute girl from class, but fears she'll confirm he's crazy.
Then a mysterious man begins following Aaron. He knows about Aaron's troubled past and his new powers. And he has a message for Aaron: As the son of a mortal and an angel, Aaron has been chosen to redeem the Fallen.
Aaron tries to dismiss the news and resists his supernatural abilities. But he must accept his newfound heritage -- and quickly. For the dark powers are gaining strength, and are hell-bent on destroying him...

An angel story from the boy's POV, yay! A YA male protag who is not an asshole/prick, yay! I was quite interested in the author's other male angel (Remy Chandler) series too, so if I end up liking this I'll definitely give those books a try.
Er, rather unfortunate that the names for the books seem less original when placed next to another book with the same name. I'll try not to judge by that though lol.
Won from Simon & Schulster Canada

Almost forgot to mention, Ah Yuan shoved lent another book to me when we met for lunch today lol

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian ⇒ New Crayon!
by Sherman Alexie | Illus. Ellen Forney
A budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation, Junior is determined to take his future into his own hands. He leaves his troubled school on the rez to attend an all-white farm town high school where the only other Indian is the school mascot. Heartbreaking, funny, and beautifully written, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, which is based on the author's own experiences, coupled with poignant drawings that reflect the character's art, chronicles the contemporary adolescence of one Native American boy as he attempts to break away from the life he thought he was destined to live.

Ah Yuan has categorized this as a tragicomedy, and I'm almost afraid to read it because I'm already quite fond of Junior without opening the first page. On the other hand I am also a tentative fan of tragedy in non-isolated forms (ex. with humour)...
