And another one that came in the mail this week:

Fallen Angels #1:
Covet
by J.R. Ward
Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about-his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that-until fate intervenes in the form of a tough- talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

I usually don't go for covers with chiseled men (even naked ones), but the summary for this novel really got me interested. I'm looking forward to a testosterone-filled adventure, maybe with a bit of redemption stuff too. Also, businessman vs. biker/fallen angel interaction sounds rather amusing to me XD;

And lastly, bought this one:

The Three Evangelists
by Fred Vargas
Sophia Simeonidis, a Greek opera singer, wakes up one morning to discover that a tree has appeared overnight in the garden of her Paris house. As her husband doesn’t give a damn, she asks her new neighbours to dig around the tree to find out if something has been buried. Her neighbours are eccentric: Vandoosler, an ex-cop fired from the police for having helped a murderer to escape, and sharing the house are three impecunious historians: Mathias, Marc and Lucien – the three evangelists, as Vandoosler calls them. They accept the job because they are desperate for money and rather curious. When they find nothing and Sophia’s dead body turns up weeks later, they decide to investigate.

This is a translated edition of the book, which was originally published in France. I took a peek at some of the writing and the easy character interaction had me purchasing the book right away. Snarky historians! Tree of evil that appeared out of nowhere overnight! The further 50% off the discounted price of $4.99 was a bonus =D
